The inventors

ELIANA

I grew up in Uruguay. My parents had a philosophy of giving my siblings and me fewer, but high-quality toys. That’s why we took great care of them, and today, some of these toys are still played with by my children. We always created stories around the toys. When I see all the young ones playing with them today, I imagine a photo album filled with all the wonderful moments we’ve shared through play.

After completing my industrial design studies in Montevideo, I have been designing toys for children in Germany for over 20 years. It has always been my dream to create my own unique toy brand that combines playing and reading, inspiring children's imagination to create great stories. I didn’t want to create just toys, but play experiences.

This is how the early play concept PlayTales™ was born, which, with Bababoo and his friends, conveys an educational meaning. Children and parents are meant to immerse themselves together in the fantasy world of Bababoo and his friends, for moments together that last forever!

STEFANO

As a child, I lived in Germany and Italy. I didn’t have as many toys as others. Still, I can hardly remember the toys in my childhood rooms. But I do remember people and moments very well. My great-grandmother playing "Don't Get Angry" or the old Italian man on the piazza who always bought me a lemon ice cream. Moments are the real gifts of childhood — memories that stay. During my studies in technology policy at the University of Cambridge, I realized: parents may need digital technologies, but what children need even more are parents who can still create analog play moments with them. That's why Eliana and I invented Bababoo and friends® — to make parents and children intuitive, creative play partners. For shared time that lasts forever!
